New Due Date

I had another appointment with my doctor today and she officially moved up my due date to May 12. She based her decision on the series of Ultrasounds that I've had, the size of the baby, as well as her calendar wheel. I'm comfortable with the change, and if the baby arrives on time, she be a pretty nice Mother's Day present.

Too cute!

Aunt Ernie is pretty cool too!

Everybody Loves Uncle Rudi

We played together, he gave me a bath, he read to me while I tried to go potty and in the end, I was a very tired little girl.

Ahhh....A Much Needed Pedicure

In anticipation of sandal-wearing weather, I ran out during Elise's nap for a much needed pedicure. How good it is to have smooth feet, nice looking cuticles and painted toes. And it was a nice treat, as I usually only treat myself to a pedicure once or twice a summer. To top it off, it's getting pretty challenging to reach my toes for extended periods of time, so I don't think I could have done it on my own.

On a side note, I think this may have been the best pedicure I've ever had too....the gal was very thorough, took her time, and Tech Nails 9 (or Nails Tech 9....I don't remember which) is about 2 blocks away. If you are ever in Palatine, I would highly recommend stopping in here.

Spring has Sprung in the Windy City

It's a balmy 76 degrees today with a nice breeze. After church this morning, we came home to pack a picnic lunch and then were off to the park. Elise was elated to be going to the playground. She's grown so much since last fall....her physical strength is amazing and there's very little that she's afraid of trying. She scaled the rock-climbing wall practically on her own (and even understood where she needed to move her arms and legs in order to progress up the wall). We were having a fabulous time until she ran in front of the swings and literally had to be pushed out of the way by a very nice Mexican man so as not to be run down. She was very scared and upset and wanted to go home immediately. I only hope her 'hero' knows how thankful we are.

Dirty Girls

It may seem rather strange (I wasn't all that sure I wanted to do it myself), but the girls took a bath together. They both stunk and desperately needed it. And I thought I might as well kill two birds with one stone. Elise thought it was great fun and enjoyed 'helping'. Briscoe wasn't quite as keen on the whole thing, but she was a good sport. When all was said and done, we had two fresh smelling, cocoa butter girls. All in a good day's work.

New(er) Baby Pictures

A couple of weeks ago (March 2nd), we had another ultrasound of Baby #2. Here's a couple of pictures of her at 28 weeks (profile shot and her hand by her mouth):

We're told that she's still 'big' so we're bracing ourselves for a 9 pounder. Here's a new belly shot from the 3rd (already outdated....)

New Favorite Uncle?

During a recent visit with Uncle Rudi and Aunt Errin, Elise took quite a shining to Rudi. She was so excited that he was willing to play with her (he even went in the princess tent). "Uncle Rudi, come play with me in the basement!" For some reason, the rest of us weren't invited.

I forgot to mention that Uncle Rudi is Briscoe's favorite too....

News Flash!

"Mama, I twinkled on the potty!"

Elise had her first successful attempt at peeing on the big-girl potty after her bath tonight. She was so proud of herself and the fact that she got her long awaited star sticker. Who wouldn't be excited about that?!?

Peanut Butter

Lately I've been craving peanut butter....so I've resorted to toasted bagels with peanut butter, Edy's Slow-Churned Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream and Quaker Chewy Butterfinger Granola Bars. Yum! The granola bars are great and are even better for you than the standard chewy chocolate chip bars. Go figure. My sister Errin is stopping through Chicago this weekend on her way to Jamaica. She loves PB too, so I'm looking forward to having a partner in crime.
